Candy Hearts reveal
A bit tardy, seeing as the reveal was last week, but I used the opportunity to write a Mighty Nein (Critical Role) story.

Musings follow
I have wanted to write in the M9 universe for ages, but I felt like I missed the boat a bit by (a) listening (at speed) post-airing and (b) not vibing with the juggernaut wizard ship. Neither of those are major obstacles of course, but for those outside of TTRPG fandoms, the time investment in going back to deeply mine canon is immense. Like, hundreds of hours, plus now tie-in comics and other side-stuff. I already spend four hours a week following the current Critical Role campaign, plus whatever Dimension 20 six-parter is going on! I felt like I could commit to a relisten of the first 25 episodes (yes, still 100 hours) in which we canonically have Molly, so this pairing coming up felt like the right one.
As well, this prompt was terrific for me, a #1 Fjord and Travis fan, as I feel like while people grokked his character's arc much later in the story, he was very much overlooked in favour of the grabbier backstories the cast offered up early on. And while Molly's appeal is self-evident (pretty, extrovert, whirly swords) and he got to die a heroic, catalysing death, to my mind there was clearly going to be interesting consequences in Fjord and Molly's relationship that never had a chance to play out. They both vied for influence and leadership--in different ways--but unusually always supported each other's decisions to the rest of the group. Power duo in the making.
I have four more parts planned, but you know, slow writer.
